about
[From the CD Liner notes]
On July 31 1995, BILL Pippen (drums) and BOB Heart (bass, vocals) played to 15,000 people at East-Europe's biggest festival 'Kvankyah' -- "It was in the middle of nowhere... like playing live from Timbuktu"
It was the conclusion of 3 years touring:
"Musically we were at the best we've ever been" Bill, 2000. "Absolutely shattered, unbelievably grouchy, doped up to our eyeballs on various substances - it's situations like that which push your limits and if you can still reach the 'zone' every night, you're doing something right! 1991-1995 were our hardest years but most rewarding; as this record pays testament! Bob and I had flown over to Kvankyah that morning, 2 days after the final date of the FB tour. We weren't nearly as rested as we should have been, and it showed - Bob's wife being the target of our frustrations. We hit the stage (three hours after scheduled), at 11pm and played the best 2 hour show of our lives. 'Til the early hours of the morning we dominated that stage and had it not been for Right Said Fred's blistering 30 minute set after, we would have gone down in music history. But hey, afterall, we are The Forgotten Band - that was until now. Out first live release is, in my opinion, our best recorded. Who'd have thought looking at the setlist - not a lengthy jam in sight! It's been over five years since that night and its memory will never leave me. Both myself and Bob have gotten into other things recently but I can assure you, the Bill & Bob legacy is far from over... watch this space!
