When I was young, I made a mistake I took a life with no shame You thought it would be easy out here tonight You made the sorriest mistake of your life Look in the mirror Who do you see? A born and bred killer This can’t be me! Around every corner Who do you see? The Devil’s daughter Is waiting for me Threw my life down the drain Knew I had nothing to gain If only I’d done the right thing Cards were drawn, End game play but what (Price to pay?) [Chorus] Price to pay Price to pay... I’ve done it again, I’ll do anything to stop it My life’s a mess, does anybody care? I’m moving away – off to sea I’ll see you all in the end, yeah! Price to pay Price to pay...

Calling all Earthlings On your planet down there What do you see, do you hear? In the nights, when you're sleeping in bed What runs through your heads? Your life is at risk, just follow me! I’ve seen the problems from way up here You think that you’re a normal race? Listen to what I say! Calling all Earthlings, can’t you hear me? I'm your master, now don't resist! Calling all Earthlings, I came down to warn you You're only young, got lots to learn Calling all Earthlings, ready or not Board my ship – a sacrifice to the Gods! I’m here to save you so follow me now Beware though of the heathens! Try and ignore my words You'll never find a reason for life Down there in your slums Up here you’ll find all the answers I’ll be your master You my chosen ones Together we’ll have second life I’ve picked you loyal slaves Now just sit back and obey Calling all Earthlings, can't you hear me? I am your master, do not resist Calling all Earthlings, come to my house You'll find the truth: I am the truth! Calling all Earthlings, just come to praise me I am your only chance of redemption! Calling all Earthlings, the apocalypse is near! I'm your everything! Fear me! Die! Do you see me? I don't care... I’m ready to destroy this Earth There's a life out there just waiting for you You’ve missed it now, you all must die My chosen disciples choose to part On All-Hallow’s Eve, we’ll tear apart This sinning world you love so much Will be destroyed and you were warned! Dancing whilst on drugs and drink Just like I did in the sixties! Calling all Earthlings, too late to listen I’m the messiah, feel my wrath! Calling all Earthlings, ha ha ha ha The spaceships ready, tonight we leave Calling all Earthlings, you wanted saving? Before I go, I’m going to execute you… Calling all Earthlings, I am your nightmare Not your mother, or your brother Calling all Earthlings, why’ve you betrayed me? I was your master, above all the laws My minions deserted now I’m all a-lone Do not look! Just because I am sixty two!

Look into the blue sky Reminds you of an eye Of one you used to love When you could care enough When you said your last goodbye That must have been a lie You see that I... Everyday in the deep blue sky

Sex On Legs 03:01
Twas his first day, with the boys The day was coming to an end We packed into the showers where I dropped the soap and had to bend… over! Sex on legs, Sex on legs! He knew the rumours now were true One year of service left – this was going to be hard! He knew he couldn’t wash again If he wanted to keep his bottom intact and avoid that chronic anal pain... In the navy! {Join The Navy} I’d done my crimes and had one choice Prison or the navy A year would pass and I would live Nobody to save me Lessons were meant to be learnt But nothing came of these The time was a waste and now I was out Reflect is all I can do…

The Hair! 06:04
When you find that the food isn’t nice You’ve got nothing left to feel Your heart’s ripped out, torn in half and burned When you find A hair on his head It cannot be just cut off immediately The hair isn’t allowed on the body In the army In the navy The hair isn’t allowed on the body In the army In the navy If they find a hair, in your food You’re not allowed to explain That’s life in the navy Got no right in the navy If you find a hair in your soup You got nowhere to complain That’s life in the navy Got no right in the navy Who you gonna call? Nobody That’s life you take it as it is, fall in and out of loyalties The hair, Is detached from the body Gets shaved from the body, Oh the hair! [Chorus] Time goes so slow in constant pain And there’s no getting out That’s life in the navy Got no right in the navy You hide the hair in your soup And remember home Twelve months have passed you’ve got twelve more: You got nothing left to fear! When you find a hair on your head You’re gonna get it cut off! You’re not allowed no hair If you find a hair in your food Got nowhere to complain In the army and Navy! {Join The Navy} And we all climbed aboard that boat Man in man, hand in hand We all climbed aboard that boat Man in man, hand in hand Nothing to care, nothing to fear Nothing to get away from Nothing to care, nothing to hear Nothing to get away from apart from me Apart from me Got my life to spare My life to spare Nothings gonna happen, nothings gonna happen Got my life to spare

In the navy In the company In the navy you’re on your own But they still say, 'join the navy' The navy is the only one You’re just a pawn, you find yourself Held under from the navy You try get through to the army And into the arms of a brutal bitch! In the army there’s no pain In the army you ain’t to blame N. I. K. E. Now I kill thee N. I. K. E. How I hate thee N. I. K. E. N. I. K. E.

{Join The Navy} Out at sea, we went to war Every man, rich and poor Shot down one-by-one Two-by-two, three-by-three But they couldn’t be saved! Look in the mirror – who do you see? A born and bred killer? – this cannot be me Around every corner – who do you see? The Devil’s daughter, is waiting for me You won’t break me down I’m around now and you Have sung for the last time I take my eye off the ball ‘cos You won’t break me down I’m around now and you Have sung for the last time I take my eye off the ball ‘cos You won’t break me down [Chorus] Price to pay...

about

Bill & Bob's acclaimed reunion album sees the duo reaching new heights after the misery of the late '80s.

Rehabilitated from the excesses that followed 'The Pulp' five years previous, the two reformed in 1990, delving straight into perhaps their most accessible work.

A straight out rock album based on Bill Pippen's brief time in the navy, 'Price To Pay' chronicles his experiences from indoctrination to starvation to rape. Hailing a new era for the duo, it was their most democratic album to date built up in the most part with co-written tracks with an individual songwriting credit each (Heart's 'Jesus Ranch', Pippen's 'Sex On Legs'.)

Criticised for its lack of musical innovation, Bill had this to say in 2002: "people were scared of the truths in our words - Calling All Earthlings is what I'm talking about specifically. That conservative uprising in the United States throughout the late 80's had hit hard over here [UK] when Price To Pay came out. The critics here all thought the same but didn't want to be associated with the movement, the kids didn't dig it. So when the reviews started trickling in for our album they were all being extraordinarily picky about my drumming and production and trivial matters like that. They couldn't openly discredit the lyrics but I'm sure that's actually what they were put off by. My drumming's not bad to say I hadn't played for half a decade..."
