about
'Egg Fried Rice' rose to minor notoriety upon release due to its somewhat risqué lyrics. According to lyricist Bill Pippen, the song is "a satirical look at the disenfranchised state of life the 21st century has embedded in youth. Globalisation of culture, the rise of theoapologenetics, the grime that is street rhyme: all things clearly embodied throughout Egg Fried Rice, from performance to production. I would never label myself a genius. The most obvious things are just inherently known." Critics disagreed however focussing on racism, musical regression and the crass attempts at modern poetry. Each to their own.
lyrics
[Bill]
Ching / chong / china-man?
Egg fried rice: a fight's alright
Cash / carry / export fee
Saturday night: quiet a fight
Racial awareness everywhere
Cellulite bum - ginger hair
Typhoon / siphon / count me down
The mob's a'coming: after you
Holy-moly / Jewish Christmas
Hike-on-a-bike if the price ain't right
Pig me up; if you please
Sorry if I offend; bring you to your knees
Gip-gip, wok-wok-wok
Once was cold: now I'm hot
Bathing, saving, making blood
Just like any gangsta' should
Cry - cry - all the way home
My home's my jail: yours is on wheels
Gypsy queen, acid ice
Tastes like - looks like - nails in eyes
Pina Colada / Rabbi Fluff
Xenophobia / Billy Goat's Gruff
Chinese / Indian / once twice thrice
This shizzle ain't nothin' but
Egg fried rice
[Bob]
Break it down it's Bee-Oh-Bee
You want pain? Come to me
Bill and Bob gonna kick your arse
Life crisis? It ain't no farce
Dice: thrice: cut yourself a deal
I ain't no chicken nugget spicy meal
I'm Hart and I be tough
Gansta Hart in da ruff
Break it down (sow it up)
Tie it a knot (a fisherman's knot)
