On The Farm

from Sheep Alert by Bill & Bob

about

Conceptually 'On The Farm' speaks of younger, innocent times. From Heart's poetic depictions of the English countryside he grew up around to Pippen's dreamy chords evoking the 20th Century memories in the listener. A hypnotic beat endures throughout lulling a false sense of security for what is to follow.

lyrics

There are ducks, swimming in ponds
Cows eating the green grass
Passers-by feasting on the countryside
A farmer telling them not to trespass

There are rabbits hopping round the shrubbery
Horses moping around alone
In winter the hedgehog is in habitat
And the crop is all dead and gone

On the farm, there are lots of animals
On the farm, frolicking with the animals
On the farm, playing on the tractor
On the farm, there are lots of animals…

[Chorus]
On the farm, the sky has turned dark

The wolves are all sleeping
The horse is in the barn
The rabbits are all underground
And the farmer’s snuggled up warm in bed

[Chorus]
