Seven Nation Marching - radio edit

from The Ultimate Singles Collection [A-Sides] by Bill & Bob

/

about

First single from debut album Ded Leopard marks a distinct change in Bill & Bob's artist direction, both in production terms and songwriting craft. Following a years touring experience, Pippen and Heart returned to the studio with a refined sound. It is Pippen who takes lead vocal here, one of many hints a new era was defining itself. Seven Nation Marching quickly became a Bill & Bob milestone: its entire pressing of 50 copies selling out in only several months. Interest in the song hit a new high in 2003 when it's iconic closing riff was used by rock duo White Stripes to great success in their tribute song '7 Nation Army'.
