Despite the relative success of debut album Ded Leopard, Robert Heart had been vocally derogatory of its production, in one 1980 interview calling it "too clean, too dry, too dull". Eagerly he set about remixing the tracks that were to become second single from the album, a double A-side of Mowing The Garden and In The Basement. Regrettably neither track received the widespread success they deserved thanks to costs being wasted on an eight-track cartridge pressing - then a highly-unpopular format - which in turn limited the availability of a standard 7" vinyl pressing. It is no coincidence that from 1983 on, Bill & Bob records were all available primarily on state-of-the-art tape cassette.
Bob Heart & Jonty 'Jazz' Bagshaw, from 1986-1989 were The Bob Experience. Their debut album (featuring drum programming by Bill Pippen) was remastered by Heart in 2012. RIP Jonty. Bill & Bob
